SYNTHESIS

3rd  July  2015

Tales told by images, videos, installations, performances and photographs.

After a period of restyling, the Pino Pascali Foundation re-opens and offers the public a self-referential itinerary through a year full of  initiatives, actions and ideas. This exhibition named Synthesis opens on the 3rd of July 2015 at 7 pm at the Museum and shows the results and the future of three projects carried out thanks to the support of the European Community and the Apulia Region.

It also shows a selection of videos made for the project IPA arTVision – a live art channel, a mobile platform for the production of audiovisual material for contemporary art that might interest artists coming from the five partner areas (Albania, Croatia, Montenegro, Apulia, Veneto) among whom we find Giuseppe Abate, Anduela Aliko, Iuzilm Alija, Miki Carone, Enrica Ciurli, Daniela Corbascio, Claudio Cusatelli, Guillermina De Gennaro, Giulio De Mitri, Michele Giangrande, Claudia Giannuli, Yilka Gjollesha, Iginio Iurilli, Christian Loretti, Luigi Mainolfi, Pierpaolo Miccolis, Giampiero Milella, Maria Lucia Musca, Massimo Ruiu, Nina Rukavina, Francesco Schiavulli, Tarshito.

Moreover, the exhibition will also show three short movies dedicated to  Michele Giangrande, Claudia Giannuli and  Pierpaolo Miccolis, filmed by  Giuseppe Tandoi, Vito Palmieri and Alessandro Piva, thanks to the Apulia Film Commission, in a display that compares the documentary with the works of the three main artists selected by the Pino Pascali Foundation.

We will also present the results of the European Project I.C.E organised by  the Apulian Public Theatre, Carnaval/Visual Art, designed and curated by Giusy Caroppo in collaboration with the Pino Pascali Museum Foundation. Five artists  –Fate Velaj (Albania), Mary Zygouri (Greece), Dusica Ivetic (Montenegro), Dario Agrimi and  Luigi Presicce (Italy)–have been invited to interact  with the artisans and the local papier-maché masters during an artistic residence in Putignano, a meeting between  contemporaneity and tradition. The result of this is the production of unpublished works that will be exhibited in Synthesis.

The exhibition will also include works by Raffaele Fiorella, Claudia Giannuli, Gianluca Marinelli, as well as   Isabella Mongelli’s performance – which will involve Colonel Vitantonio Laricchia, a famous Italian television weatherman. These works had been realised for the first edition, curated by Lia De Venere and Anna D’Elia, with the collaboration of Nicola Zito and Edoardo Trisciuzzi, of the multi-year project SAC Mari tra le mura: nel blu dipinto di Puglia (Seas between walls: in the deep blue of Apulia) in the offices of the municipalities involved: (Palazzo San Giuseppe  (Former  Pino Pascali Museum), Mola di Bari (Casa della Cultura  (Palazzo San Domenico – Former Municipality offices)), Rutigliano (Palazzo San Domenico  ( Whistle Museum))  and  Conversano (Monastery of Saint Benedict).
