Kick off meeting for the project MONET – Culture in Motion in Adriatic Networks of Museums, under IPA CBC programme Italy-Albania-Montenegro, took place on July 05-06 in Cetinje in the premises of Lead Partner of the project, Ministry of Culture of Montenegro. The meeting was attended by representatives of project partner institutions from Italy (Pino Pascali Museum and ARATRO University of Molise) and Albania (National Gallery of Art in Tirana and Marubi Museum of Photography). In addition, the event was attended by Montenegrin cultural institutions included in the project: Center of Contemporary Art and Maritime Museum.

During the meeting, the representatives of the Lead Partner presented the main activities of the project: creation of Museum Network on Programme Territory (Montenegro, Albania, Region Puglia and Region Molise), establishment of model for common Museum Pass, organization of exchange programme for young artists that would result in joint exhibition of works, organization of training for artists that would create museum merchandising products that reflect the bond between different cultures, building capacities in the field of museum management, as well as new equipment for the museums, that would enable better presentation for the collections by using modern technologies.

State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Mr. Drazen Blazic, welcomed the partners and emphasized that one of the most significant benefits of this project is establishment of the basis for cross-border cooperation between Italy, Albania and Montenegro, countries with long history and tradition with successful bilateral cooperation and that the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro is especially proud that the realization of this project will reflect successful inter-state cooperation on local level, through the participation of civil sector stakeholders, artists and cultural experts, whose input would be very significant in the implementation process.

At the end of the meeting, all project partners agreed upon joint and dedicated implementation of the activities that would make significant contribution to the cultural sector in all three countries.
