The Museum Network in the Adriatic Sea Region has been established within the AdriaWealth Project. This has been financed by the 2007-2013 IPA Adriatic Sea Programme of intercultural cooperation – the Apulian Public Theatre as leading member, The Apulia Region – Department for Tourism, Economy, Culture and Promotion of the Territory as partners, with the support of the Pino Pascali Museum Foundation and the Apulia Film Commission.
The network gathers different museums of the Adriatic Sea Region in order to draw new forms of interdisciplinary and intercultural approach. It will be presented for the first time on the 24th October 2016 at the Pino Pascali Museum Foundation in Polignano a Mare with a workshop that brought together different realities from Albania, Croatia, Greece Montenegro, Slovenia and representatives of museums in the Italian Adriatic regions.
This intercultural network of museums in the Adriatic Sea Region aims at promoting dialogue, communication and connections among similar realities represented by the various museums on the Adriatic coasts so as to enhance every single gallery and their heritage as well as promote a fruitful debate concerning best practice, skills and competencies.
Moreover, among the other objectives of the agreement, there is the promotion of cooperation policies aimed at improving the quality of and access to cultural services; the creation of synergies for the development of “museum districts”; innovative forms of management to improve the quality of the services offered by the museums; the creation of a new perception of museum as a place that can generate new forms of technological innovation, economic growth and changes in the style and quality of life.

The AdriaWealth Project is financed by the 2007-2013 IPA Adriatic Sea Programme of intercultural cooperation. It aims at creating a series of public-private networks so as to invest the capital raised in five previous IPA projects (Archeo.S. Artvision, Adriacold, Medpaths, Roofofrock). In particular, it wants to promote good practices developed in the fields of sustainable tourism, promotion of the artistic and cultural heritage, management of natural resources. AdriaWealth is led by the Apulia Public Theatre, and, among its partners, also has the Apulia Region – Department for Tourism, Economy of Culture, Promotion of the Territory, with the support of the Apulia Film Commission Foundation and the Pino Pascali Museum Foundation.
